Contract renewal announced10-Apr-2007
Following a competitively tendered process Cambridgeshire County Council has announced it is renewing its county-wide contract with the Sherwood Group for cleaning of its offices and premises. The original contract which commenced in April 2001 has been renewed for another 5 years with an option of a further 2 year extension.
Under the terms of the contract Sherwood provides cleaning of all county offices, libraries, Day Centres, Registrar offices and any other premises owned by the Council. Sherwood also supply the Authority with toilet and washroom services and related consumables.
The contract which is serviced by over 300 Sherwood Group operatives and management, was awarded a Cleanability Award in 2005 by the Worshipfull Company of Environmental Cleaners.
Lesley Gordon, Routine Customer Services Manager for the Cambridgeshire County Council said: “We re-awarded the cleaning contract to Sherwood Prestige in 2006, due to their cost competitiveness and the full package of cleaning management offered. Sherwood have continued to provide very high standards of cleaning, together with a range of additional services, often required at short notice.
“Our close partnership bond, built up over the past 7 years has resulted in excellent working relations, in which Sherwood service over 120 County Council buildings.”
